Plot Summary: Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female death god (a.k.a Shinigami) named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits (Hollows), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other shinigamis explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world. Aired: Oct 5, 2004 to ?

Let me start with the main problem with this anime. I can tell you in one word, Filler. Now, you can do what I do and just download all the episodes minus the fillers and be ok (you can find an episode guide online to tell you that), but in some cases some past filler characters are brought up but not in any way that matters at all. It won't cause confusion, except that you might wonder who they are. My advice is download everything minus the fillers, they're not good at all.
Now, on with the rest...
This anime is great. By far one of the best, taking away fillers like I just said that is. The story line will keep you addicted, and just when you think it might start getting old, a twist. This anime is good about some twists.
The characters are top notch. Many different characters of all different types, and the character development is great too. You see the main character gain power, probably too quickly, and learn to control, and effectively use that power throughout the story. He never stops growing.
There are awesome fight scenes, some of the best in anime.
There is also a good bit of comic relief. Not the bad kind, but the actually funny kind.
Over all, I give this anime a 5/5 if you take away the fillers. With the fillers, I give it a 3/5.
Keep in mind, the story still has a long way to go, and being a manga reader, I know that it's fixing to get much more epic once the fillers end. I highly recommend this anime.

I agree with Shavos.. This series is starting to be ridiculous. I'm tired of these horrible fillers that make no sense at all. Are they trying to satisfy the Bleach crave with these half-ass episodes? Well they're NOT! The original story as in the manga kicks major ass so I rate THAT 5/5.
They should just NOT make any episodes to let the manga get further ahead than throw out these stupid worthless episodes. 1/5 for fillers.
